Project 2

Contextual Fit

Project Statement

Project 2 is meant to show how as Architects we must design not only based off of what the client want. We must take in accounts of other aspects as well. In this case, respect and follow the aspects of the original Architect, Richard Meier, as well as creating a design by what was requested.

Narrative

A wealthy Lady and her family of three, move into the Smith House and are looking to add an extension to the preexisting building. She and her husband enjoy the ocean as they both are captivated by its beauty, they hope the extension can relate to the ocean. She loves sea creatures and has a small collection of them, due to this she requires an at home Aquarium. Despite her love of the ocean, her family always comes first. The family loves time spent together and has a very apparent sense of togetherness. Having a space where they can enjoy time together is key in this extension.
